Mengistu AyalewMengistu Ayalew holds an MA degree in Coexistence and Conflict from Brandeis University, Waltham, MA, and received an MA degree in International Studies from the Institute of Diplomacy & International Studies, University of Nairobi, Kenya.  Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

He is a co-author of Beyond disaster: A comparative analysis of tsunami interventions in Sri Lanka and Indonesia/Aceh, Journal of Peace and Development, Vol. 3, No.3. In Ethiopia, he had served at various capacities in different governmental organizations including as a diplomat posted to Nairobi, Kenya from 1998 to 2003.
